Agenesis of the corpus callosum is a birth defect in which the structure that connects 2 hemispheres of the brain. Which
is called the corpus collosum is partially or completely gone.(My corpus callosum is completely absent.) This can be
an isolated condition or a combination with other cerebral abnormalities. It can also be connected with malformations in other
parts of the body. Midline facial defects, which I have. The effects from this disorder are subtle or mild to severe, depending
on associated brain abnormalities. Mental retardation does not get worse with this disorder and acc does not cause death in
majority of them. I was born on November 22,2005 to a wonderful family I have acc and I am here to tell my story as I progress.
People with acc are not different than any other child we are kids making our way and doing our best. There isn't much out
there on my disorder and I am here to let people know more of my disorder.
I have my mom and dad to help me through everything and an older sister that loves me. I have lots of love from my grandparents
and aunt to help me also.Absent corpus callosum is like you are missing a bit of your brain, it's the part that signals your
right brain what the left brain does and signals your left brain what your right brain does. The problems with this are numerous
and not much is known of what all is caused by this. So far I have been behind on my problem solving areas and I just started
crawling and I am doing better but need work with it still. My speech is doing well so far and I do have some mid line issues.
I have ECI working with me and helping me to grow and do things I need help with. There are others out there that have more
problems than I do, and there is also others out there that are normal and leading great lives. No matter what though I see
it like this we all have issues and problems ours may just need a bit more attention but we are very special people. We love
life and are very happy people.
